Hi Canada,

Specsavers here – how’s it going? We wanted to say thanks for giving us such a warm welcome since we opened our doors last year. We’ve met nearly half a million of you for an eye exam or some new glasses. Now we want to talk to you about your eye health.

We know that there’s probably a list as long as your arm of things you’d rather spend your money on. And yes, we know that you’re not as excited about eye exams as we are. But hear us out. We care about your eyes.

It turns out that 1 in 4 Canadians who don’t wear glasses haven’t had an eye exam in over 10 years.* Yikes. That’s not good. Because while your vision may be fine, there could be more going on beneath the surface.

75% of vision loss is preventable and treatable** but it’s important to catch problems early. The good news is that every optometrist in the Specsavers network (nearly 150 of them so far) has access to OCT technology that supports the earliest detection of sight-threatening diseases.

In just a few seconds, an optometrist can create a 3D image of your eye using OCT (optical coherence tomography, if you’re interested) that helps make sure your vision is protected. It’s powerful technology and when you visit a clinic in Specsavers, it is included as part of a standard eye exam at no extra charge. And, for kids and seniors, eye exams are provided at no cost to you.***

So, drop by to see us when you get a chance. Or any optometrist for that matter (we won’t take it personally). But with new Specsavers locations opening every week – we’ll be ready when you are.

See you soon.
